Montegrino Fontina Red wax – Aged
This semi-hard cheese was first produced in Aosta Valley, Italy. It is distinguished by its nutty, savoury flavors which only instensify as it ages. It is wrapped in red wax, with a straw-colored paste interior.
This cheese is similar to Mozzarella: elasticity perfect for melting into dishes, semi-soft consistency, etc. However, the Fontina has a less acidic aftertaste, even being described as honey-like.
This cheese is best served melted over any pasta or mixed into any salad.
This cheese melts into a perfect dip for garlic bread.
